NOTIFIER ANNOUNCES NOTI•FIRE•NET™ INTERFACE FOR INTELLIGENT FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANELS

NOTIFIER ANNOUNCES NOTI•FIRE•NET™ INTERFACE FOR INTELLIGENT FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANELS

Network Nodes Maintain Personal Protection Areas While Monitoring and Controlling Other Nodes

NORTHFORD, Conn. - NOTIFIER, a world leading manufacturer of commercial fire alarm technology and systems, introduces its NOTI•FIRE•NET™ (NFN) Interface. Designed to allow existing NOTIFIER Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panels to form a network of individual control panels capable of monitoring and controlling other areas, the inherently regenerative peer-to-peer communication configuration and electrical isolation between nodes eliminate the risk of network failure.

The NFN is a token-pass style network based on the proven ARCNET® local area network technology and implements a single twisted fiber or wire pair for data communications, making the interface extremely powerful, yet simple to configure and install.

Each network node displays local information, and powerful Cooperative-Control-by-Event allows points on one node to activate points on other nodes. Multiple Network Control Stations (ONYX® NCS) and Network Control Annunciators (NCA) may be placed anywhere on the network for situations where the entire network must be monitored. Point display capacity is not held to less than the maximum network capacity, and additional NCS’s may also be used to provide inherent “hot” backup.

The NFN network operates under NFPA Style 4 or Style 7. High-speed data communications operate several times as fast as competitive networks. Unlike competitive systems, the point display capacity for network activity is not held to less than the maximum network capacity.

NOTIFIER is part of the Honeywell (NYSE: HON) Life Safety Group.
